Have you seen every film in your local dvd store? Fed up of buying shit quality movies out of a suitcase in the street? Want to watch something new? Get yourself to Dada this Wednesday 28th March for the latest “Cinemashup“! Run by Shanghai’s favourite VJ Tina Sprinkles, with musical support from from the Acid Ponies, the film programme consists of a mix of the strange and the wonderful, with a large helping of hilarity and a generous Sprinkle of trippy stuff.

Last month we were treated to a variety of short films including this awesome stop-motion video by German street artist BLU (see right hand side), and this weirdly beautiful loop of a wire dancer by Xavier Chassiang. The evening also included a smattering of brilliant clips from Monty Python (YES!) as well as a very funny short film about an American guy who gets shot in the arm as a form of body modification. Only in Texas. Yes he is a total bellend, but the resulting docu/mocumentary is hilarious.

The next Cinemashup is this Wednesday 28th March, so get yourself down to Dada for some more classic comedy, cool animation, street art videos, a short art film made entirely with postcards and stupid videos made by people with way too much free time. This session will also include a very exclusive viewing of some incredible video clips by world famous video artist Leslie Thornton, who we hope will be joining us in person for the next event. Watch this space!

Entry is free and includes popcorn. Screening starts at 9pm but get there early to make sure you bag a decent spot on the sofas. For a full programme and to join the mailing list, or to submit movies and ideas, send an email to Tina at cinemashup2012@gmail.com.
